The Shisha Tiara ring was inspired by the exquisite hand embroidery Alexandra saw on her travels around Rajasthan. The 'shisha' stitch, which originated in 17th century Indian textiles, uses mirrors in the belief that they protect the wearer by reflecting away the evil eye.
The intricate and delicate detail of the gold-work is from hand-sewing with cotton thread, which is then transformed into solid 18kt yellow gold. Five pink sapphires of varied shade, to create depth of colour, have then been added.
